Background

Maxperr Energy, EV charger and home energy solution manufacturer, came to me for a brand refresh. As part of the campaign, they asked me to redesign their online presence. Their previous website didn’t align with the new visual identity and couldn’t accommodate their e-commerce storefront needs. I rebuilt the full website and provided art direction for their brand photography so the web development team at Digital Star could build the functional site.

Research & Direction

While analyzing their previous design, I noticed lots of overlapping sections and misleading titles throughout the website. Site visitors might find it confusing to navigate around, leading to a lower viewer retention rate.

I based the new sectioning on their core needs, and gave the website a more minimal and modern look so that it fits into the market without sacrificing their unique brand position. This new user flow allows visitors to find what they need quickly and drives transaction conversion rate.

Design & Rationale

Pattern

Derived from the lightning brand icon, composed of two “r” shapes. The transparent gradient mimics the appearance of carbon fiber car coatings. As a part of the brand upgrade, this pattern was also applied to the brand’s presentation decks and product flyers.

Colour System

The existing brand color system lacks saturation and lightness range in blue and a light gray, so pastel and muted deep shades were added as a core of the overall brand enhancement.

This upgrade reflects the brand’s mission to promote a cleaner, more sustainable future through EV popularisation.

Typography

Manrope is an open source, modern sans-serif typeface with a neo-grotesque structure. It is the primary font of the brand, and I defined a set of type guidelines for consistent type hierarchy throughout the website.

Outcome

I developed the full website design with high-fidelity prototyping over the course of a week, receiving feedback from the CEO and web developers throughout the process.
